What do you need to know before purchasing an AirTrack at FLYOUT?
What is an AirTrack and what is it used for?
If you’ve made it this far, it’s probably for two reasons:
1. First case: You have had the incredible opportunity to try an AirTrack for the first time and now having one at home has become a necessity.
2. Second case: You have seen several videos on networks of this very rare mat from which you seem to fly out, doing spectacular acrobatics.
And now you are evaluating if having one of these inflatable mattresses at home could be worth it.
(Otto) – “As an acrobat for over 15 years, my short answer would be, YES.”
“Without a doubt, having an AirTrack has allowed me to reach a professional level not only faster, but also without ever risking injury.”
For those in the second “initiation” group and for parents looking for material for their daughters and sons, we understand that all this information can be overwhelming – we totally understand!
An AirTrack is basically an inflatable mat designed to provide a safe and elastic surface to practice acrobatics in disciplines such as artistic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, fitkid, tumbling, cheerleading, parkour, freerunning, tricking, martial arts, among others. Imagine a flat trampoline that You can roll it up and put it away when you don’t need it – yes, it’s that practical!
Although it is mainly used in gyms and gymnastics schools, its versatility has led more and more people to use it at home, in the garden or even at the beach. Why? Because it provides just the right momentum to practice jumps and acrobatics without the risk of a hard surface. Plus, it’s perfect for improving balance and strength without worrying about painful bumps.
Why choose an AirTrack instead of a traditional mat?
You’re probably asking yourself, “Can’t I just use an ordinary trampoline?”. Well, of course you can, but an AirTrack offers advantages that a traditional trampoline simply can’t match:
- Rebound and Cushioning: The magic of the AirTrack is in its rebounding ability. Never before have we had the opportunity to transfer our learning from a trampoline to the ground so safely. When you’re laying the groundwork in acrobatics, it’s normal to feel scared, but the process of reaching a professional level doesn’t have to be painful or uncomfortable.
The AirTrack provides extra momentum when jumping, allowing you to practice more difficult tricks with less effort. In addition, landings are much softer, reducing impact on the joints.
- Portability: While a traditional trampoline takes up a lot of space even when you’re not using it, an AirTrack deflates in minutes and stores easily in a closet or the trunk of your car.
- Durability and Resistance: AirTracks are made of high quality materials such as double-walled PVC, which makes them more resistant to wear and tear and intensive use. Plus, they are waterproof! So you can take them to the garden or pool with no problem.
- Versatility of Use: You can use it indoors or outdoors, for your acrobatic training, physical preparation or games.
What size AirTrack do I need based on my space and skill level?
Choosing the right size is key to getting the most out of your AirTrack. Here are some tips:
BEGINNER
AirTrack 3-5M
An AirTrack of 3 to 5 meters is usually enough. It is ideal for those who practice this sport in a playful way and want to have an optimized and safe space to learn to do somersaults, sidewheels and basic exercises without worry.
INTERMEDIATE
AirTrack 6-8M
If you already have some experience or need more space for running and jumping, a 6 to 8 meter AirTrack is a better option. It allows you to perform longer and more complex exercise sequences.
ADVANCED
AirTrack 10-15M
If you have a large yard or gym space, consider an AirTrack of 10 meters or more. This is perfect for those who practice artistic gymnastics or advanced acrobatics.
Before making your choice, measure the available space in your home or garden to ensure that there is enough room around the AirTrack to move around safely.

The AirTrack is amazing, you can feel the quality and it’s just what I was looking for for my workouts. The only thing to keep in mind is that, being 12 meters, it is quite heavy and moving it alone can be complicated. But otherwise, perfect!

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
At FLYOUT we have inflatable gymnastics accessories from 60cm to 15M. Therefore, it is important that you take into account the space needed to place it correctly.
In general, it is important that the place where it is installed is safe, avoiding elements that may interfere with the activity, sharp surfaces that may damage the material and corners that may obstruct the path.
In addition, it is important that you take into account the dimensions of the airtrack you choose to ensure that the space available is sufficient.
If you want to buy an airtrack, choose the thickness according to your level and objectives:
- Beginners: 10 cm, for basic exercises and good stability.
- Intermediate: 20 cm, with more rebound for more advanced tricks.
- Experts: 30 cm, offers the highest rebound and cushioning for complex acrobatics.
Although these are general recommendations, it also depends on your preferences. For example, if you are looking to strengthen movements to make them on the ground, a 10 cm airtrack may be better because it is closer to the real experience.
The time it takes to assemble and disassemble an airtrack mat depends on 2 factors: the size of the AirTrack and whether you have an electric or manual pump and, on the other hand, the user’s experience in the installation of this type of material. But we can already guarantee that all FLYOUT material is ready to be assembled and disassembled quickly and easily.
To have a clearer reference of the time, I leave the table below:
- AirTracks 3-5m long and 1-2m wide take an average of 2-5 minutes.
- AirTracks 6-12m and 2m wide take an average of 5-10 minutes.
- Gymnastic complements take about 30 seconds and 1 minute at the most.
As long as FLYOUT high power pumps (CE Certified) are the ones you’re using.
Installing AirTrack is a piece of cake. Follow these steps:
- Place on a flat, clean surface: Make sure there are no sharp objects underneath that could puncture it.
- Unroll the AirTrack: Spread it out completely before inflating it.
- Use the included air pump: Connect the pump to the valve and in a few minutes it will be inflated. Do not overinflate, it should have some flexibility.
- Enjoy! Once inflated, it is ready to use.
To keep it in good condition:
- Wipe it with a damp cloth after each use, especially if it was outdoors.
- Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Deflate completely before rolling to avoid damage or deformation.
In addition to being an essential tool for training in different disciplines, airtrack is also an excellent option for having fun and enjoying the outdoors in summer. Here are some ideas to have a great time with your inflatable mattress:
-
Giant SLIP ‘N SLIDE: With a little soap and water, you can turn your airtrack into a giant slide. Slide and roll over the mat for a unique experience.
-
Balance platform in the pool or sea: Place your airtrack in the water and turn it into a balance platform to improve your coordination and stability. You will be able to do different exercises and games while enjoying the water.
-
Pirate ship or paddle surf: With your airtrack in the water, you can turn it into a pirate ship and live unique adventures. If you have a paddle surf board, you can place the mat on top of it and use it as a balance platform to improve your skills in the water.
-
Let’s see who can stand up? If you’re looking for a fun physical challenge, you can set up an inflatable gymnastics track in the water and see who can stay on their feet the longest. You will be able to perform different exercises and challenges to have fun with your friends and family.
-
Physical challenges: Use your airtrack to perform different physical challenges and games. You will be able to create obstacle courses, races, jumps and many other activities to enjoy the outdoors and keep fit.
Always remember to take safety measures and use the mat in a safe environment. Enjoy the summer and have the most fun with your airtrack.
The answer is YES, all our AirTracks can get wet.
They are made of a high quality PVC tarpaulin with a thickness of 10 mm which makes them water and moisture resistant. This means that they can be used in the pool, in the sea and even in the rain without any problem.
However, even if our material is waterproof, it is important to keep in mind that water can affect its long-term durability. If they have been used in the sea, it is recommended to clean them with fresh water to avoid any damage to the surface of the mat.
In addition, it is important to dry them completely before storing them. This will prevent the growth of mold and mildew and prolong the life of the inflatable gymnastics mat.
